We W&J Surveyors(Pvt)Ltd, is having a multi-competency team of Surveyors from senior level to fresh graduates with high-tech specialization and equipped with latest technologies and tools including Geodetic GNSS/RTK, GPS, Total Stations and Drones which ensures that our clients receive high-quality and professional surveying services.

Brief History of the Company

Our surveying company was seeded in Hatton to serve the clients of Nuwaraeliya District by Mr.D.L.D.Y. Wijewardena in 1975. During the past 5 decades, the company has spread the services throughout the country and achieved its milestones by reaching 2000+ clients by offering satisfactory professional services. Once the management of the company was handed over to the Managing Director Mr. Jeyachandran (B.Sc) Surveyor, the company has been named and registered as W& J Surveyors (Pvt) Ltd and expanded its services with additionally recruited staff and currently, it has stepped beyond the national territory.
Now the company has the capacity of providing a full array of surveying services including the Drone Survey. In addition to the national focus, W& J Surveyors (Pvt) Ltd is having a good professional network in Uganda with the experience of successfully completing Topographic Survey subcontracts in Uganda at Sindila Hydro Power Project at Sindila, Bundibugyo District (Western Region, Uganda), and Kyambura Hydro Power Project at Rubiziri District (South-western Uganda).

D.L.D.Y. WIJEWARDENA J.P., C.S.S.I

Registered Licensed Surveyor, Courts Commissioner & Valuer

D.L.D.Y. Wijewardena is the Chairman of W&J Surveyors (Pvt) Ltd. He has completed the Diploma in Surveying Sciences at Diyatalawa Survey Training School in 1961 and the Advance Engineering Survey at RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia in 1975. He is guiding the team with 60 years of tremendous experience in both cadastral and engineering disciplines in the field of Surveying Sciences and Geomatics.

D.L.D.Y. Wijewardena is a Senior Surveyor with 60 years of tremendous experience in both cadastral and engineering disciplines in the field of Surveying Sciences and Geomatics. He has completed the Diploma in Surveying Sciences at Diyatalawa Survey Training School (presently known as Institute of Surveying and Mapping, Diyatalawa, Sri Lanka) in 1961.
 
D.L.D.Y. Wijewardena has started his career journey at the Hydro Development Branch of the Electrical Department, and he has received the Surveying License while he was working for the Electrical Department in 1963. Then he has continued his career as an Instructor at Katubedda Technical College, Moratuwa (Presently known as Industrial Engineering Training Institute, Katubedda, Moratuwa) from 1964 to 1965.
 
In 1965, he has started again working directly in the field of surveying by entering into Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) at Maskeliya-Oya Project Stage I as an Engineering Surveyor and Technician (1965-1969), then he served as a Court Commissioner at Rathnapura District Court from 1969 to1970. Again he got an opportunity to work for Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) at Maskeliya-Oya Project Stage II as a Senior Surveyor from 1970 to 1975. While working for CEB, he has received a full scholarship from RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia, and completed a course in Advance Engineering Survey (1975).
 
With this great international exposure, as soon after returning to the country he has established an office in Hatton and started working for Hatton Region. So far he offered his professional services for 2000+ clients ranging from individual property owners to large-scale projects. Presently, D.L.D.Y. Wijewardena is the Chairman of W&J Surveyors (Pvt) Ltd and guiding the team with his knowledge and expertise.

E. JEYACHANDRAN B.Sc (Surv. Sc.)

Managing Director/ Surveyor

Mr E Jeyachanran is the co-founder of W&J Surveyors (Pvt) Ltd. He has completed a Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc) in Surveying Science (special) from the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. He is having more than 15+ experience in the field of Surveying in all parts of Sri Lanka and Overseas.

Mr E Jeyachanran is the co-founder of W&J Surveyors (Pvt) Ltd. He has completed a Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc) in Surveying science (special) from the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka and is a member of the survey institute of Sri Lanka (SISL). He was an intern at Access Engineering PLC in 2006 and started his career journey with the great guidance of D.L.D.Y. Wijewardena in the same year and, gained greater experience by working for below companies and contractors as a Surveyor and Surveyor Consultant.
 
Mahaweli Authority, Sri Lanka for Moragahakanda Road in the project named Moragahakanda Reservoir Project in (May 2007 – Jun 2007), Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), Madea Corporation, Sri Lanka for Upper Kotmale Hydro Power Project Lot 1, Talawakelle, Sri Lanka (July 2007 – August 2009), Madea-Nishimatsu Joint Venture for Upper Kotmale Hydro Power Project Lot 2, Talawakelle, Sri Lanka (Sep 2009 – Oct 2011), Road Development Authority (RDA) Resources Development Consultants (Pvt) Ltd for Hatton-Nuwaraeliya Road Project (A7) (Nov 2011 – Dec 2015).
 
Further, he has completed two Topographic Survey subcontracts in Uganda at Sindila Hydro Power Project at Sindila, Bundibugyo District (Western Region, Uganda) and Kyambura Hydro Power Project at Kampala, Rubiziri District (South-western Uganda) respectively in 2015 and 2017.
 
With all the above experience and knowledge, he has initiated his freelancing in 2016 and worked for 100+ clients and currently he has expanded the business to new locations and working across the country based in head-office in Hatton, Sri Lanka, and a branch office strategically located in Kandy, Sri Lanka for the easy mobilization to any part of the country.
